We like to celebrate summer here at PLUS QA. (It might be a Portland thing -- we all come alive in the summer sunshine!) And this year, we celebrated on the river ... the White Salmon River in Washington, to be exact! At the end of last month, we joined the white water rafting experts at River Drifters for a fun, exciting, and wet day in the sun.
We learned a lot about rafting—and a few things about each other:
- White water rafting is like testing: You have to pay attention to the details and follow instructions!
- Teamwork is important: Rafting requires that everyone work together in order to make it through the course of the river safely and with the entire team still onboard.
- Performance and endurance are key: Whitewater rafting requires you to push yourself mentally and physically. You need to be ready to face any obstacle.
- Our team of testers thrives on adrenaline: Let’s just say if most of them were asked, “If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?”, the answer would be a resounding YES.
(Don’t believe us? See for yourself.)
“We’re lucky to live in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by the mountains and the ocean—there’s so much for us to try,” said PLUS QA founder, Manu Bonnet. “It’s also a nice break mid-year, to spend time together as a team outside of the office.” This is the third year the PLUS QA team has hit the rapids, and this year’s trip was just as fun (if not more so!) than last year’s and the year before that. We’re already counting down the days until next summer’s adventure—whether in the whitewater rapids of Washington or somewhere new altogether!
