Chrome extensions can be very useful for QA Testing. We've received a lot of positive feedback about our Top 15 Chrome Extensions for QA Testers blog post in the past, so we thought we’d update our list of favorites and share our top Chrome extensions with you.
#1 FIREBUG LITE
Firebug Lite is not a substitute for Firebug, or Chrome Developer Tools. It is a tool to be used in conjunction with these tools. Firebug Lite provides the rich visual representation we are used to see in Firebug when it comes to HTML elements, DOM elements, and Box Model shading. It provides also some useful features like inspecting HTML elements with your mouse and live editing CSS properties.
#2 WINDOW RESIZER
This extension re-sizes the browser's window in order to emulate various resolutions. It is particularly useful while testing layouts on different browser resolutions. The resolutions list is completely customizable (add/delete/re-order). You can set the window's width/height, window's position, preset icon (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop) and even the option to apply the new dimensions to the entire window or just to the viewport. The extension also features customizable global key shortcuts, an option to export your settings and import them on another computer.
#3 CHECK MY LINKS
‘Check My Links' quickly finds all the links on a web page and checks each one for you. It highlights which links are valid and which ones are broken, simple as that.
#4 GHOSTERY
The majority of websites track users’ online activities and may store personal data. Ghostery helps protect your privacy and allows you to make your own decisions regarding how much personal data you share while visiting a website.
#5 IE TAB
If you’re a major Chrome user, this extension can be very helpful. IE Tab lets you open pages in different IE versions while testing on Google Chrome.
#6 WAVE EVALUATION TOOL
WAVE is a web accessibility evaluation tool. It provides visual feedback about the accessibility of your web content by injecting icons and indicators into your page. No automated tool can tell you if your page is accessible, but WAVE facilitates human evaluation and educates about accessibility issues. All analysis is done entirely within the Chrome browser allowing secure valuation of intranet, local, password protected, and other sensitive web pages.

#7 iMACROS
iMacros is designed to automate the most repetitious tasks on the web. If there’s an activity you have to do repeatedly, just record it in iMacros. The next time you need to do it, the entire macro will run at the click of a button. With iMacros, you can quickly and easily fill out web forms, remember passwords, create a webmail notifier, and more. You can keep the macros on your computer for your own use, use them within bookmark sync / Xmarks or share them with others by embedding them on your homepage, blog, company Intranet or any social bookmarking service as bookmarklet.

Testing includes also checking spelling. Spell Checker is a great resource - it’s simple to use and provides spell-check assistance in 12 different languages.
#9 WEB DEVELOPER
While testing a project, sometimes it’s necessary to have some developer’s tools. Web Developer gives you access to a toolbar with some useful tools to help manage cookies, control the browser cache, and fill forms.
#10 ACCESSIBILITY DEVELOPER TOOLS
Software testing also includes accessibility testing. Accessibility Developer Tools is an extension divided by an accessibility audit section and an accessibility sidebar. They work together to help you to make sure that your website follows standard accessibility guidelines.

#11 AWESOME SCREENSHOT
Capture all or part of any web page. Add annotations, comments, blur sensitive info, and share with one-click uploads. Make sure to check your privacy settings in the options menu.
#12 CLEAR CACHE
Quickly clear your cache with this extension without any confirmation dialogs, pop-ups or other annoyances. You can customize what and how much of your data you want to clear on the options page, including: App Cache, Cache, Cookies, Downloads, File Systems, Form Data, History, Indexed DB, Local Storage, Plugin Data, Passwords and WebSQL. Cookies can either be removed globally, only for certain domains or for everything except for certain domains.

If you are testing with Jira, this extension will be your best friend. It helps you give better and quicker feedback to your team and helps you reproduce bugs more easily. Finally, an easier way to measure page load time - Page Load Time is accessible through a toolbar and very easy to use. It gives you precise information about the load time of any kind of page.
#15 UNSHORTEN.LINK
Unshorten.link is a useful tool to analyze any kind of shortened links like bit.ly or t.co to be sure that the page is safe.
#16 DROPLR
Droplr is a great extension to take screenshots and add annotations. It makes it easy to share your work through different media such as chat, email or text.The Droplr dashboard allows you to create collections and organize your work efficiently. You can also analyze stats or customize URLs easily.
